Music theory: Keyboard & Staff

Many students find studying music theory easier when they engage with music kinesthetically. In other words, physically creating sounds by playing a musical instrument (such as the piano) helps students to better visualize and audiate the music they are writing down or studying. This in turn allows students to understand the relationship between different pitches more quickly.

Instructions

🎼 Begin with Video-assisted Learning to help learn the names of keys on the keyboard.

🎼 Match the corresponding pitch name and solfege name that are shown on the staff.

🎼 Match notes to the corresponding pitch name and understand the meaning of the key signature.

🎼 Use the piano keyboard to memorize the pitch name and understand the placement of a note on the staff in relation to its position on the keyboard.
