Shape Lesson 2: 2D Shape- Sides and Vertices
Form perception is the recognition of visual elements of objects, specifically those to do with shapes, patterns, and previously identified important characteristics.
By studying shapes, children learn so many skills that help them in other curriculum areas including reading, math, science, art, and visual-spatial thinking.
In the United States, national education standards for kindergarten include geometry skills such as identifying, describing, analyzing, comparing, creating, and composing shapes.
We designed four files of learning shapes original content from giving preschoolers lots of practice with shapes helps them solidify their understanding of the 2D structures and up to middle school students an insight of learning cross-section of 3D shapes.
🎯 SHAPE LESSON 2: 2D SHAPE- SIDES AND VERTICES
Instructions
Kindergarten through Grade 2 students will learn about the attributes of 2D shapes by applying animated graphics to make the trace shape stand out.
- Creating animations to make the trace shape stand out for students to count the number of sides and vertices on the shapes.
- Practice drawing the shape with the attributes of 2D shapes.
- 👉 Help fish to find their home. Students practice comparing and sorting the sides of 2D shapes.
