LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Learn the essential characteristics of an animal in order for it to be an insect: 3 body segments (head, thorax, abdomen).
- Able to observe insects and identify the different body parts of them.
- Arouse students’ interest in insects, motivates them to pursue self-directed learning.
ACTIVITIES AND INSTRUCTION
- The lesson starts with a picture of the natural world. Students can try to distinguish creatures that are insects.
- Observation Worksheet: Students can write down the features that they observed from the insect.
- Recognize the different body parts of insects and match them to the correct positions.
