Entity type breakdown

When filling out the Entity Request Form, prospective organizations must select an entity type. Regional representatives will review whether this entity type is appropriate to a given organization.

Entity type breakdown

myViewBoard categorizes entities into three types, outlined below. These types each correspond to the email domain the entity plans to use as their main domain.

  1. Individual: This type is for schools or organizations with a unique registered email domain. All members in this entity belong to the same school or organization (e.g. viewsonic.com) and only those with the same email domain can be added into this entity.
  2. Shared: This type is for a set of schools or organizations that share the same email domain. For example, an educational bureau creates an email domain to be used by all schools in its region. When this educational bureau applies for an entity, Shared type is the correct choice. As with Individual entity types, only those with the same email domain can be included in the entity.
  3. Public: Many schools and organizations are registered under a free email public domain, such as Google and Yahoo. As such, these organizations do not have a unique registered domain and should choose the Public type. This type supports users with different email domains under the same entity. Note, a Public type entity can accommodate a maximum of 1,000 users.
