myViewBoard settings


Changes in admin roles

The new account migration will introduce some changes in how admin roles are assigned. Specifically, each ViewSonic service will now handle the management of roles, access, and admin rights within their own dedicated platform. For example, Entity admin roles are handled in the VS Entity portal, myViewBoard admin roles are set in the myViewBoard application, and Manager admin roles are assigned in the Manager system, etc.



Summary of changes

Old method

Admin roles were managed centrally within the myViewBoard portal, with permissions extending across all subscribed ViewSonic services.


On the myViewBoard portal

  • Access. Admins sign in to https://myViewBoard.com to perform tasks.
  • Users. Admins used the myViewBoard portal to add users. Users added here became available for all other ViewSonic services.
  • Roles. Admins used the myViewBoard portal to assign roles to users. If users became Admins in myViewBoard, they automatically become admins for other ViewSonic services.



New method 

Admin role assignment is now split between the ViewSonic Entity portal and myViewBoard, with each portal handling roles relevant only to its own scope.


On the ViewSonic Entity portal

  • Access. These tasks are done on the https://cloud.viewsonic.com/entity site.  
  • Users. Admins must now use the ViewSonic Entity portal to add users. Users added here become available for all other ViewSonic services.
  • Roles. Admins also use the portal to assign roles to selected users. However, these roles are now limited to tasks for managing the ViewSonic Entity account only. 


On the myViewBoard portal

  • Access. Admins sign in to https://myViewBoard.com to perform these tasks.
  • Users. The user list is now dynamically retrieved from the data stored in the ViewSonic Entity portal.
  • Roles. Admin can assign users to a myViewBoard Admin role. However, myViewBoard Admins can only perform tasks within the myViewBoard portal. 



Entity Admin Roles page

Use the Entity Admin Roles page to assign specific permissions to users already added to your Entity. Each role grants access to manage different parts of the Entity Console.


Warning

These roles only apply to ViewSonic Account Entity Management. myViewBoard and Manager will have their independent role policy.




Assign or remove roles

  • Click the role you want to manage
  • Use the Assign members option to add users
  • To remove users, select their names from the list and click Unassign members



Available roles

Roles here now refer to tasks related to managing the ViewSonic Entity account only.


Role Description
Domain Admin Manage domain registration
User Admin Add or remove users
Subscription Admin Manage subscription settings
Role Admin Assign or update admin roles



To assign administrative roles for other ViewSonic services (for example: Manager, myViewBoard, TeamOne, etc.), please navigate to each service’s designated admin page.
