Select a class

Teachers must select a class before they can invite students to join a quiz session. Once a myViewBoard session has started, teachers can select a class at the following points in the lesson:

• At the start of the session
• Before sending a quiz question

Each class can contain up to 50 students. Note that students can only join a class after it has been started from the the Quiz Tools toggle.

Select a class

The class type determines how students will join the session. Select one of the following options.

To select a class, activate the Quiz Tools toggle, then click the Join Class icon.

One-time class 

Creates a temporary class that is discarded when the lesson ends. This option is available even if the user is not signed in.
 

1. Click the Quiz Tools toggle on the main toolbar. 
2. Click the Join Class icon.
    
3. On the new Quiz Tool popup that appears:
   1. Select the Entity that contains your class.
   2. Locate the One-time class area at the bottom.
   3. Select the Start now button.
       
4. By default, the Join class uses the current date as the class name.
5. Use the options in the Join the class section to invite students.

Roster Class 

Roster classes require students to sign in with their Google accounts.

Selected by default when you create a class while signed in. Each student signs in individually with their own Google account.
 

1. Click the Quiz Tools toggle on the main toolbar. 
2. Click the Join Class icon.
    
3. On the new Quiz Tool popup:
   1. Select the Entity that contains your class.
   2. In the My classes section, select your target class. You may need to scroll down to see the rest of the entries.
   3. Select the Enter Class button to open the Join Class popup. 
       
4. Verify that the Join class popup shows the correct class name.
5. Use the options in the Join the class section to invite students.

Creates a class from an existing Google Classroom roster. This option can only be created via myViewBoard Hub.

Miscellaneous

Note the following behaviors.

• Options to add, edit, delete, or update the class name are only available on the myViewBoard Hub portal.
• Activate the Quiz Tools toggle to access the Join Class icon .
• Clicking the Join Class icon shows different popups depending on the class state:
  
  
  • If the user has not signed in yet: 
    Click to show the Join class invite popup for the One-time class option.
     
  • If the user has already signed in: 
    The first click will always show the class selection popup.
     
  • If a class is already active: 
    Click to show the Join class invite popup with invite info for the signed-in user.
