General Projection FAQs
What projection methods does AirSync support?
AirSync supports two projection methods:
- Screen sharing via AirSync Sender.
- Mirroring through the device's native screen (no need for AirSync Sender).
How do I start sharing my screen?
- Start AirSync on the IFP.
- Start AirSync Sender on the device.
- Connect AirSync Sender to AirSync using one of the following:
- Type the Display code and one-time password.
- Or select AirSync on the same network in the device list (not available for Web Sender).
- Or scan the QR code on the AirSync side (AirSync Sender for Android and iOS only).
- Select the screen you want to share and start projecting.
How do I select a screen to share?
- AirSync Sender for Windows or macOS: Share the entire screen or a specific application window.
- AirSync Web Sender: Share the entire screen or a specific browser tab.
- AirSync Sender for Android or iOS: Share your entire screen.
What is the max duration of a sharing session?
A sharing session can be up to three hours. Five minutes before the end of the three hours, a countdown will be displayed at the top right of the screen. The session will automatically close after the countdown.
DeleteWhat is "touchback"?
If you are using AirSync Sender for Windows or macOS, you can turn on touchback after the projection starts. When enabled, you can directly click the shared screen on the AirSync side (IFP side), and this click will be synchronized on the AirSync Sender side. Touchback is only supported on the Windows and macOS versions of AirSync Sender.
DeleteDoes it support projection from multiple users?
Even when a sharing session has started, AirSync will still accept new sharing requests and automatically goes into split-screen view to show all screens. You can zoom in and out, or restore individual screens as needed. Depending on the IFP model, AirSync can accept up to 4 to 6 devices for simultaneous projection.
DeleteWhy can't I start the projection successfully?
The most common reasons are given below:
- Incorrect Display code or One-time password. Please type the correct Display code and One-Time password shown on the AirSync app. The Display code and One-time password are consecutive combinations of numbers. The One-time password is updated every two minutes.
- Network connectivity issues. For example, try using Web Sender to connect to AirSync, which only has LAN connectivity.
- Taking too long (more than 30 seconds) to select a screen to share. You need to reconnect to try again.
- AirSync has reached the upper limit of possible connections in presenter mode.
- AirSync has reached its limit for sharing screens to devices.
- AirSync or AirSync Sender has not been updated.
- The system time in the IFP does not match the local time.
On AirSync Sender for macOS, sharing a screen has no audio?
To share video and audio through the macOS AirSync Sender, you must install the macOS virtual audio driver before sharing your screen. Please refer to the AirSync Knowledge Base for detailed instructions.
DeleteWhy does the screen lag when I share a video?
One common cause is poor network quality, such as insufficient network bandwidth or unstable network environment. You can try to improve performance by performing the following:
- Ensure you have sufficient and stable network bandwidth. The recommended bandwidth is 5Mbps.
- Share your screen over a LAN via AirSync Sender.
- Use a physical network cable to connect to the AirSync (IFP) side.
The projection quality is a bit blurry; how can I improve it?
- Ensure your network bandwidth is stable and meets the recommended bandwidth speed of 5Mbps.
- Use AirSync Sender to share your screen over LAN.
- Use a physical network cable to connect to the AirSync (IFP side) receiver.
Why is there a delay when sharing a still picture (e.g. slide show)?
Possible reasons are:
- Poor network quality.
- Screen was idle for too long, and the data transfer buffer must be re-established.
Why did my projection suddenly stop?
Some common reasons are given below:
- Network issues. When the network quality is unstable, AirSync actively tries to maintain the current projection and tries to reconnect when the network is disconnected. When this attempt fails, the projection will be stopped.
- When sharing an application window instead of the whole screen, closing the application window being shared would cause the current screen sharing to stop abruptly. For example, when you are sharing a PowerPoint slide show application window: If you press the “Esc” key, both the slide show and the screen sharing stops. This is normal and expected behavior.
- Other system issues.
Mirroring FAQs
What mirroring methods does AirSync support?
AirSync supports the industry's leading screen mirroring technologies, including AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast.
DeleteHow do I start mirroring?
- Verify that the AirSync screen mirroring function is turned on. This is on by default.
- On your target device, use AirPlay, Google Cast, or Miracast to start screen mirroring by finding the AirSync access point (no AirSync Sender required).
What is the maximum duration of the mirror?
A sharing session can be up to three hours. Five minutes before the end of the three hours, a countdown will be displayed at the top right of the screen. The session will automatically close after the countdown.
DeleteCan you support mirroring from multiple devices?
Even when a sharing session has started, AirSync will still accept new mirror requests and automatically goes into split-screen view to show all screens. You can zoom in and out, or restore individual screens as needed. Depending on the IFP model, AirSync can accept up to 4 to 6 devices for simultaneous projection.
DeleteWhy can't I mirror successfully?
Possible causes are given below.
- Your device and the AirSync device need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi SSID.
- The IFP side uses an incompatible Wi-Fi dongle.
If the problem persists, contact ViewSonic Customer Support and provide the mirroring method you are using, the device information and model number of the mirroring device, AirSync version, AirSync Sender version, Wi-Fi dongle model, IFP model, and firmware version.
In addition, if Moderator mode is enabled, system limitations prevent screen mirror from running. You need to turn off Moderator mode and re-start the screen mirror.
DeleteScreen Broadcasting FAQs
What is the max number of IFP monitors that can receive a broadcast?
You can select up to 10 IFP screens to receive the broadcast.
DeleteWhy can't I find an IFP display for broadcast?

DeleteThe broadcast feature has two types. What’s the difference?
- Only when casting
The IFP’s screen will be broadcast to other IFPs only when a screen sharing session is active. - Always
The IFP’s screen will be broadcast to other IFPs, regardless of whether a screen sharing session is active or not.
Where can I broadcast the IFP screen to?
You can share your IFP screen (IFP source) with another IFP running AirSync on the same network (IFP receiver).
DeleteCan I refuse a broadcast request?
You can set an IFP receiver to always reject broadcast requests, or to always agree to accept all broadcast requests.
DeleteHow do I stop screen broadcasting?
- Only when casting. When the sharing session stops, the broadcast also stops.
- Always. To stop, go to "Settings > Screen Broadcast" on the source IFP and turn off the broadcast feature. During a broadcast, you can also turn off the broadcast feature on the receiving IFP to stop that IFP from showing the broadcast.
What network connections does AirSync support?
AirSync can run on both LAN and Internet connections:
- LAN Connection
Screen sharing is limited to AirSync Sender devices that are connected on a local network. In this case, you cannot share the screen via Web Sender. - Internet Connectivity
