Adorning menu

The Adorning menu is a context menu that provides additional options to interact with objects on the canvas. Actions available on the menu change depending on the active object selected. 


Shapes and Lines

Options shown will depend on certain properties of the shape or line selected. 

   

Circular shapes

For all shapes created with the circle tool. 


Equilateral polygon

For all shapes that have 4 or more straight sides of equal length. 


Non-equilateral polygon

For all shapes that have either 3 sides or straight sides of unequal length. 


3D shape / AI drawing

For all shapes created with the 3D tool, or for shapes inserted using the AI pen. 


Straight / Curved lines

For all lines created with the line tool (either straight, angled, or curved). 



The following options are specific to the adorning menu for shapes and lines:


 
Stroke
Adjusts the outline’s color, thickness, and opacity to define the shape’s edges and give the shape a clear boundary or a decorative accent.
 
Fill
Sets the interior color of the shape for added visual appeal to help differentiate shapes or convey emphasis.
 
Angle
Displays an overlay that measures and shows the length on each side of the shape, in cm. Click the overlay to toggle the display.
 
Slice
Divides the shape into separate segments to create a pie-chart effect. Useful for breaking down data or emphasizing portions of a design.
 
Arc
For circles only: Convert shape to a partial circle (lines at endpoints that connect to the center) or a partial arc (show lines only).
 
Add circle inside
Inserts a smaller circle within the boundaries of the selected shape to help layer elements or highlight an inner focal point.
 
Add circle outside
Adds a circle that surrounds the selected shape, either to create a layered effect or provide an external highlight.
 
Set endpoint style
Lines only: Specify a style for the left / right endpoints of the selected line.
 
Set line style
Lines only: Specify the style of the selected line.

Pens

Options shown will depend on what pen type was used to create the stroke. 


Pen strokes / highlighter

For strokes created with the Marker, Brush, and Highlighter pens.


Stamp / background

For strokes created with the Stamp and Background reveal pens.


The following options are specific to the adorning menu for pen strokes:


 
Stroke
Adjusts the color, thickness, and opacity of strokes created with the Marker, Brush, and Highlighter pens.
 
Stroke thickness
Adjusts the thickness and opacity of the pen strokes created by the Stamp and Background reveal pens.

Text and notes

Options shown will depend on what text element is selected.


Text content

When adding or editing text inside a text block.


Text block

For text blocks added using the Text tool.

 


The following options are specific to the adorning menu for text:


 
Text color
Changes the color of the displayed text. By default, text color is black.
 
Background color
Adds a color block behind the text content. Use to highlight words or provide contrast for readability.
 
Text format
Displays options for changing the style of the currently selected text.
 
Alignment
Sets all content in the text block to align left, right, or center.
 
Bullets
Format selected text as a list, or add and remove indents in the current paragraph.
 
Handwriting recognition
Converts touchscreen input to digital text that can be edited for further processing.
 
Speech to text
Transcribes spoken content into written form. Click the arrow to show more options.
 
Immersive reader
Launches the Immersive reader app to read the selected text.
 
Text to speech
Reads out aloud the selected text on the canvas. Click the arrow to show more options.

Sticky notes

For any shape and text added using the Sticky Notes tool.



The following options are specific to the adorning menu for sticky notes:


 
Sticky note color
Changes the color of the currently selected sticky note.
 
Pen
Allows freehand drawing within the sticky note area. Stroke width and color can be adjusted.
 
Eraser
Erases strokes drawn by the pen. Note that only the strokes drawn inside the sticky note area will be removed.
 
Text format
Displays options for changing the style of the currently selected text.
 
Font size
Click the up or down arrows to increase or decrease the size of all text inside the sticky note.

Images

For images added via the Import or Image Search tool.



The following options are specific to the adorning menu for multimedia content:


 
Crop 
Resize the cropping frame to show only the necessary parts of an image.
 
Fit to screen 
Auto-resizes the selected image so it fills the full width of the screen.
 
Remove color 
Hold and drag over one color in the image to make that color transparent.
 
Apply as background 
Sets the selected image as the full-page background of the current canvas.

Multimedia 

Options shown will depend on the type of object selected.


Video

For supported video files added via the Import tool.


YouTube

For online videos added via the YouTube tool.


Embedded browser

Available only if the Embedded browser is 'pinned' to the canvas. 



The following options are specific to the adorning menu for multimedia content:


 
Take screenshot 
Saves the current frame as an image and inserts it on the canvas.
 
Full screen 
Displays the contents of the selected container frame to full-screen mode.
 
Reset URL 
Goes back and reloads the website that was originally pinned.
