Poll
Use myViewBoard's Poll feature to collect opinions and feedback from your class through instant voting. Use this tool to facilitate decision-making and is an effective tool to gauge class sentiment.
Launching Poll
To launch the Poll feature, perform the following:
- Click the Magic Box on the main toolbar.
- On the menu, locate and click the Poll icon.
Note that the menu has two tabs:- The Home tab displays all tools by category.
- The All Features tab displays all tools as a list.
- A new Poll window should open.
⚠️ Availability
Access to Poll is only available to:
- Users subscribed with a Pro plan
- Users under an Entity account

Add questions
To add questions to your poll, perform the following prior to your session:
- Select a question type on the Poll window:
- Multiple Choice
- Free Format
- True/False
- Voting
- Rating
- Drawing
- Configure the question. Note that each question type have their own unique requirement:
- Type in your question.
- Add options or input types as needed.
- Set time limit (optional).
- All added questions will get added to the list on the right panel.
- Configure how myViewBoard manages the questions during the session:

Display question.
Specify if myViewBoard should have the actual questions visible on the right panel. If not, only the question type and ID will be shown. -
Automatically start the next question.
Specify if myViewBoard should move to the next question once the time limit for a question has been reached.

- Once you are satisfied with your questions, save the OLF file.

Share
Window to show the various URLs to your myViewBoard portal. Participants will use the portal to send responses.
Start the session
To start the session, perform the following:
Open the poll
- Launch myViewBoard and open the OLF file.
- If you have not done so already:
- Sign in with an account that has access to the Poll feature. myViewBoard will not launch a Poll under unsupported accounts.
- After signing in, note your myViewBoard name at the upper left.
- Tap the Magic Box and open the Poll feature.
Your audience should see the first question.
- Tap Start to activate the timer.
You may want to wait until everybody has joined your myViewBoard portal first before starting.
Collect responses
Once your poll is open and ready, ask your audience to interact with the poll through your myViewBoard portal.
- First, perform one of the following to get myViewBoard to show the URL for your myViewBoard portal:
- Tap the myViewBoard name at the upper left of the myViewBoard window.
- Tap the QR code at the lower right of the Poll window.
- Once the popup appears, have participants perform one of the following to access the portal:

Visit the portal URL.
Launch a browser and type the URL. Recommended if you can easily share the URL by email, sms, or other messaging app. -
Scan the QR code.
Recommended if joining via Companion app. -
Type the Session ID.
- Sign in to myViewBoard.com first.
- Locate the myViewBoard tile and click Join a session.
- A new window asking for the Session ID appears.
- Type the myViewBoard name shown on the popup.

Visit the portal URL.
- Once your audience has access to your myViewBoard portal:
- Instruct them to click the
Polls tile.
- Back in myViewBoard, click Start on your Poll window.
- They will see the poll question in real-time.
- Instruct them to start submitting responses.
- Instruct them to click the
- Repeat until everyone has gone through all the questions.

Review responses
To view responses, click Results.
- Responses appear live on the poll window. Formats differ between question types:
- Live Chart View (bar graph, pie chart, etc.)
- Text View for open-ended responses.
- Save or export the results. Poll results can be saved directly into the canvas or exported as a CSV.
- You can also take a screenshot of the results for review at a later time.
