myViewBoard settings

Set up your background, your myViewBoard name, and how your session behaves by customizing key settings.

Notification

The Notifications panel provides a centralized view of system alerts, messages, and updates. It allows users to manage, filter, and respond to notifications directly on the myViewBoard UI.

  • Toggle sound
Enables or disables audio alerts for incoming notifications. Use this to mute or unmute notification sounds without affecting system-wide audio settings.

  • Clear all
Removes all current notifications from the panel. This action cannot be undone and will dismiss all unread and read alerts.

  • Mark all as read
Flags all notifications as read, clearing any unread indicators. This helps reset the notification status without deleting the messages.

  • Close
Closes the Notifications panel. This does not clear or modify any notifications—just hides the panel from view.

  • Filters
Provides options to refine which notifications are displayed based on type, priority, or source. Use this to quickly find relevant alerts or reduce clutter.

Settings

The Settings panel contains options that customize the general UI and behavior of myViewBoard during your session.

Preferences Tab

The Preferences tab allows users to configure application settings according to their personal or regional needs. It provides control over display language, default formats, and input behavior to optimize the user experience.

  • Language
Sets the language used throughout the application's interface. Change this setting to update all menus, buttons, and labels to the selected language.

  • Default text style
Specifies the default font family and size for newly created text content. Note that this can be manually overridden by selecting a different font during a session.

  • Default unit
Defines the measurement unit used in layout and formatting tools. Choose between inches or centimeters to match regional standards, or personal preferences.

  • Handwriting recognizer
Selects the engine and target language used for converting handwritten input to digital text. This setting affects the accuracy and behavior of the handwriting recognition feature.

System Config

The System Config tab provides system-level settings that control the default behavior and input handling. These options are designed to optimize performance and interaction on touch-enabled displays.

  • Default mode
Sets the initial operating mode when myViewBoard launches. Present Mode opens the canvas in full-screen, while Prepare Mode is optimized for editing and setup.

  • Pen auto-smoothing
Enables or disables automatic smoothing of pen input to create cleaner, more natural strokes. When off, pen input reflects raw strokes for precise or technical drawing needs.

  • Autorun at startup
Determines whether myViewBoard launches automatically when the system starts. Enabling this ensures the app is ready for immediate use without manual launching.

  • Palm eraser
Allows users to erase content by resting their palm on the screen, simulating a natural erasing gesture. When off, erasing must be done using the Eraser tool.

  • Finger only scrolls canvas
Restricts finger input to canvas navigation only, preventing accidental drawing or interaction. This setting is useful for differentiating between pen and touch input roles.

  • Multi-touch
Enables or disables recognition of multiple simultaneous touch points. Turning this on allows two or more users to write on the myViewBoard canvas.
