Select a class
Teachers must create or select a class before they can invite students to join a quiz session. Each class can contain up to 50 students. Note that students can only join a class after it has been started from the Quiz Tool.
Select a class
The class type determines how students will join the session. Select one of the following options.

Users are prompted to select a class after activating the Quiz Tool.
One-time Class
Creates a temporary class that is discarded when the lesson ends. This option is available even if not signed in.
- Activate the Quiz Tool toggle on the main toolbar
- On the new Quiz Tool popup:
- Select the Entity that contains your class.
- Locate the One-time class section at the bottom.
- Select the Start now button.
- By default, the Join class uses the current date as the class name.
- Use the options in the Join the class section to invite students.
Roster Class
Roster classes require students to sign in with their Google accounts.

Selected by default when you create a class while signed in. Each student signs in individually with their own Google account.
- Activate the Quiz Tool toggle on the main toolbar
- On the new Quiz Tool popup:
- Select the Entity that contains your class.
- In the My class section, select your target class. You may need to scroll down to see the rest of the entries.
- Select the Enter class button to open the Join Class popup.
- Verify that the Join class popup shows the correct class name.
- Use the options in the Join the class section to invite students.

Important
The SSO signup process will not trigger for your students if you invite them to a Class that was created before June 2026. If you need to use Google SSO to auto-assign student names and responses, create a new class instead.
via Google Classroom import
Creates a class from an existing Google Classroom roster. This option can only be created via myViewBoard Hub.
Create a class
If you don't have a class yet, you can create a class directly from the Quiz Tool popup.
- Activate the Quiz Tool toggle on the main toolbar
- On the new Quiz Tool popup:
- Select the Entity that contains your class.
- In the My class section, select the Create a new class button.
- A new class is created which uses the current date as the class name.
- Select this new class.
- Select the Enter class button.
- By default, the Join class uses the current date as the class name.
- Use the options in the Join the class section to invite students.

You can create a new class directly from the Quiz Tool popup.
Edit class name
To edit the class name, perform the following:
- Activate the Quiz Tool toggle on the main toolbar
- On the new Quiz Tool popup:
- Select the Entity that contains your class.
- In the My class section, locate the class to edit.
- Use one of the following options to manage your class.
Rename class. Specify a new unique name for this class.
Delete class. Remove this class from your list. This action is not reversible.
