AirSync

Mirror via AirPlay

If the AirSync Sender is not available, you can use AirPlay to quickly share screens from an Apple device.

Setup and use AirPlay

AirSync supports sharing from supported Apple devices via its built-in AirPlay feature. Note that this requires both the device and the target IFP to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

On the target IFP:

  1. Launch the AirSync app.
  2. Tap on Settings
    1. On Device Setting, review the Device Name. Also note the full device name on the top right of the IFP.
    2. On Mirroring, verify that AirPlay is turned on. For added security, enable Require passcode to require the user to input a passcode before the mirroring starts.

  3. Click to close Settings.

On the Apple device:

  1. Connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the IFP.
  2. Open Control Center. Steps will vary based on your Apple device. For example: if the sharing device is an iPhone, perform one of the following.
    1. On iPhone X and newer: Swipe down from the top-right corner.
    2. On older iPhones: swipe up from the bottom.

  3. Tap the    Screen Mirroring button.
  4. From the list of available devices, select the IFP board name.
  5. Type the AirPlay code (if prompted) on your device.
  6. Your device screen will now appear on the target IFP.

  7. To stop mirroring:
    1. Open Control Center again.
    2. Tap  Screen Mirroring
    3. Tap  Stop Mirroring.

Additional details

Note the following behavior:

  • A sharing session using mirroring can last up to three hours. Five minutes before the end of the three hours, a countdown will be displayed at the top right of the screen. The session will automatically close after the countdown.

  • Some features like touchback and HD quality are provided by the AirSync Sender app and are not available when mirroring. If you need these features, consider sharing your screen via the AirSync Sender app.

  • Even when a sharing session has started, AirSync will still accept new mirror requests and will automatically go into split-screen view to show all screens. You can zoom in and out, or restore individual screens as needed. Depending on the IFP model, AirSync can accept up to 4 to 6 devices for simultaneous projection. For more details, see the following article:

  • Moderator mode does not support mirroring. You need to turn off Moderator mode and re-start the mirror process to start sharing. For more details about Moderator mode, see the following article:
