Personalization, subscription and resource info to enhance myViewBoard

Cloud integration

Connect your existing 3rd party cloud storage and videoconferencing accounts to myViewBoard to make your cloud files accessible within myViewBoard and allow for convenient set up of online calls.

Apps and cloud services must be enabled by your organization's IT in order for you to successfully connect to them. If you don't see a service you expect to be able to, contact your IT.

myViewBoard supports the following videoconferencing apps and cloud services:

  •  Google Drive
  •  Dropbox
  •  Box
  •  OneDrive
  • OneDrive for Business (only available for Entity accounts)
  •  Nextcloud Files
  • Google Classroom

To review the accounts you're connected to, sign in to myviewboard.com and go to your FollowMe settings.

Access cloud integration

There are two ways you may access your Cloud integration:

  1. Sign in to myviewboard.com.
  2. On the home page, 
    • Option 1: 
      1. Press  in the title bar.
      2. Press in the left-side panel.
    • Option 2:
      1. Open the user drop-down menu in the title bar.
      2. Press  FollowMe.
      3. Press in the left-side panel.

Bind apps and cloud accounts

To connect accounts to myViewBoard, follow these steps:

  1. Within Cloud Integration, on the app/service you would like to connect to, press .
  2. Sign in to your 3rd party account.
  3. Allow myViewBoard to access your account.
  4. (Cloud services only) After the binding process is complete, a new folder named myViewBoard will be created in the root directory of the cloud storage account.
  5. Repeat these steps for every account you wish to connect.
  6. To set an account as the primary cloud storage, press .

AUTO SAVE SESSION FILE TO CLOUD

When a cloud storage service is set as default, a session file will automatically save to this storage after the session automatically signs out. This helps ensure, in cases where you have left a session idle, you will not lose your progress.

Access cloud accounts

After connecting a 3rd party account to your myViewBoard account, users can access it through Magic Box I-main-tool-bar-magic-box.svg and File Manager inside myViewBoard Whiteboard and myViewBoard Classroom.

myViewBoard folder

A myViewBoard folder will be created in your cloud storage after completing the binding process. By default, the myViewBoard folder contains the following subfolders:

Background Where FollowMe background images accessible in Whiteboard are stored.
Magic Line Pen Where Magic Line Pen images accessible in Whiteboard are stored.
Shape Pen Where Shape Pen images accessible in Whiteboard are stored.
Media Default folder for the integrated cloud feature of the Magic Box. By default, no files are automatically stored here. We suggest storing frequently used media here for easy identification.
Pop Quiz Stores saved questions from a Pop Quiz session.
Throw Stores files received via the Throw feature.
QR Share Stores PDF files generated when sharing lesson materials via QR code in myViewBoard Whiteboard.

Upload custom images

Images saved in myViewBoard's folders can be used for specific tools, like backgrounds, Magic Line Pen, and Shape Pen.

Nextcloud integration

Nextcloud is a cloud storage service typically used in organizations and notable for its self-hosting requirements. Users should either use your Nextcloud login credentials or generate a unique token within Nextcloud to connect myViewBoard.

To connect your Nextcloud to myViewBoard, you have two options.

Bind with your Nextcloud credentials

The first option involves simply using your Nextcloud credentials to bind with myViewBoard:

  1. Go to your FollowMe settings > Cloud integration.
  2. Press the Bind button in the Nextcloud tile.
  3. Input credentials into the fields accordingly:
    1. Server address: your organization's Nextcloud server URL.
    2. Username: your username used to log in to your Nextcloud server.
    3. Password: your password used to log in to your Nextcloud server.
  4. Press OK and wait to confirm your Nextcloud credentials have been verified by myViewBoard

Bind with a client password generated in Nextcloud

For added security, Nextcloud also offers a method to generate a unique token. This method allows users to revoke this token from within their Nextcloud settings at any time.

  1. Sign in to your Nextcloud server.
  2. Go to your Settings > Security > Devices.
  3. Create a new password.
  4. Copy this newly generated password to be used in your myViewBoard cloud integration settings.

Next, on myviewboard.com, sign in:

  1. Go to your FollowMe settings > Cloud integration.
  2. Press the Bind button in the Nextcloud tile.
  3. Input credentials into the fields accordingly:
    1. Server address: your organization's Nextcloud server URL.
    2. Username: your username used to log in to your Nextcloud server.
    3. Password: the unique password generated in your Nextcloud security settings.
  4. Press OK and wait to confirm your Nextcloud credentials have been verified by myViewBoard.

Verify Nextcloud bound status

Once Nextcloud has successfully bound with your myViewBoard account, verify by viewing your account information in the Nextcloud tile.

Nextcloud tile in FollowMe cloud integration settings will display Nextcloud account info when successfully connected.
