NFC management

Use the NFC Management page to associate an NFC card with a myViewBoard account registered under your entity. Note that this page is only available for users that are signed in with an entity account.

To enable the browser to register NFC cards, you need to install the NFC Connector plugin first:

  1. Download the NFC-Connector Installer file from the NFC Management page.
  2. After download, double-click the NFC-Connector Installer file.
  3. Wait for the installation to complete.

Afterwards, re-launch the Chrome browser, then perform the following.

  1. Click to open the browser options menu, then navigate to the following:
    • Extensions Manage Extensions

    1. Enable toggle_onDeveloper mode.
    2. Click Load unpacked extensions.
    3. Navigate to the folder where NFC-Connector was installed.
      This is usually found in:
      C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\ViewSonic\NFC-Connector\chrome-extension
    4. Click Select Folder to load the extension.
If successful, the extension ViewSonic NFC extension appears on the page.

  3. Test the NFC card reader and ensure that an NFC ID appears in the input box whenever an NFC card is tapped on the reader.

Bind an NFC card

Once you have all the requirements met, the NFC Management page is now ready to bind NFC cards to user accounts.

  1. Verify that the NFC card reader is already attached to the PC. Also make sure that you have physical access to the NFC card to bind.
  2. Go to the NFC Management page
  3. Locate the email address of the user who needs to bind their NFC card with their account.

  4. Click the Bind button beside the selected user.
    1. Once the popup appears, tap the user's NFC card on the reader.
    2. An NFC ID should appear in the input box.
    3. Click Save, then click close to return to the user list.

  5. To verify that registration was successful, the NFC column for the target user should now show the NFC ID that was just registered.

Unbind an NFC card

You can also use the NFC Management page to unbind NFC cards from user accounts.

  1. Go to the NFC Management page
  2. Locate the email address of the user who needs to unbind their NFC card.
  3. Click the Clear button beside the selected user.
  4. On the next dialog, click Clear to confirm the process.

  5. To check that the process was successful, verify that:
    1. The Clear successfully message appears.
    2. The NFC column for the target user now shows Not bound.
    3. The action button on the user's entry goes back to Bind .

Other behavior

  • Only one card can be registered per user.
  • To bind a new NFC card, clear the user's current card first before binding another NFC card.
