Basic Elementary Math 02: Addition
OVERVIEW
This is the second chapter of the mathematics concept series. The content provides activities which allow students to practice basic math addition techniques.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will be able to:
- Understand the concept of math addition.
- Practice adding numbers.
- Perform horizontal and vertical addition methods.
- Utilize addition in real life situations.
ACTIVITIES AND INSTRUCTION
- Addition Activity 1: Roll the dice, pull out the same number of fruits and write down the sum.
- Addition Activity 2: Roll the dice, look at the numbers corresponding to the finches and add them together.
- Addition Activity 3: Add the numbers written on the parking space, and find the correct car to park in.
- Addition Activity 4: Spin the arrow and add up the numbers that the two sides of the arrow lands on.
- Addition Speed Race: Starting from the bottom, add the two numbers next to each other. The student who gets to the top in the shortest time wins.
- Help the finch find its way home!: Choose the path with the right sum and help the finch get back home.
- Games and Quizzes: Play a ViewSonic Originals Online Game to practice math addition.
