Single sign-on (SSO)
myViewBoard offers several options for single sign-on (SSO):
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Entra ID SCIM
- Google Workspace
- SAML
These SSO options can be configured in Single Sign-On in the Entity Management console.
Before proceeding, login as administrator of your Microsoft Entra ID (Global Administrator), Google Workspace (Super Admin), or any other account you will configure for SSO, and enable the mailbox of any user that will be added to your entity. This ensures that they can receive important myViewBoard updates after the process is complete.
Microsoft Entra ID
To set up SSO for Microsoft Entra ID, follow these steps:
- Go to the Single Sign-On page.
- In the Single Sign-On Setting dropdown menu, select Microsoft Entra ID.
- Click Sign in with Microsoft.
- Follow instructions to sign in with your Microsoft Global Administrator account. This grants access to myViewBoard.
- If successful, verify that the the Entity Management console now shows the correct values for the following fields.
- Tenant Name or ID
- Microsoft Entra ID App ID
- Click Use this Microsoft Entra ID as Identity Provider.
- Click Confirm.
Microsoft Entra ID SCIM
Set up single sign-on (SSO) when accessing myViewBoard services for this entity's users. SSO setup also gives you options to sync users.
To set up SCIM, follow these steps:
- Go to the Single Sign-On page.
- In the Single Sign-On Setting dropdown menu, select SCIM.
- Click Download SCIM setup instructions.
- The document provides steps on how to configure myViewBoard in Microsoft Entra ID.
- Copy the values for SCIM URL and SCIM Token when the steps require.
- Complete the steps outlined with the instructions document.
Google Workspace
To set up SSO for Google Workspace, follow these steps:
- Go to the Single Sign-On page.
- In the Single Sign-On Setting dropdown menu, select Google Workspace.
- Click Install myViewBoard to your Google Workspace.
- Follow instructions to sign in with your Google Workspace Super Admin account. This grants access to myViewBoard.
- If successful, verify that the the Entity Management console now shows the correct value for the Tenant Name or ID field.
- Click Use this Google Workspace as Identity Provider.
- Click Confirm.
SAML
SAML is an XML-based open-standard for transferring identity data between two parties:
- an identity provider (the entity), and
- a service provider (myViewBoard)
Once all SAML settings are completed, entity users should be able to use their credentials to sign in to myViewBoard, with no extra steps needed to add or sync new users.
To set up SAML SSO, follow these steps:
- Go to the Single Sign-On page.
- In the Single Sign-On Setting dropdown menu, select SAML.
- Fill in the following fields with information from your server:
- SAML URL
- SAML Logout Redirect
- SAML Certificate
- Copy the auto-generated URLs below and apply them to your SAML server settings:
- Endpoint
- Audience URL
- Assertion Consumer Service
- Recipient URL
- When ready, click Confirm.
