vLauncher 3.0 NFC screen lock

vLauncher 3.0 has an NFC screen lock feature that allows users to securely lock and unlock their ViewBoard by tapping an NFC card. This provides a convenient alternative to already existing methods, like passwords or QR codes. 

 

Use NFC screen lock

The steps below assume that you have already registered your NFC card with the target ViewBoard IFP. If not, follow the procedures outlined here:

 

Once you are done, continue with the steps below:


  1. After signing-in, tap on your avatar and select Screen Lock.
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  2. On the next screen, select NFC card
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  3. The screen will lock immediately. During this time, the ViewBoard displays the following screen.
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  4. To exit screen lock mode: 
    1. Tap Unlock.
    2. Once the prompt appears, tap your NFC card on the NFC sensor. 
      Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
    3. You should be back on your last screen.

 


Use NFC lock in guest mode

Users can still use NFC screen lock even without signing in.


  1. Turn on the ViewBoard, and wait for the sign-in page to appear.
  2. Select Sign-in as guest.
  3. Tap on the avatar icon, and select Screen lock.
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  4. On the next screen, select NFC card.
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  5. Once the prompt appears, tap the NFC card to register on the NFC sensor. 
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  6. The screen will lock immediately. During this time, the ViewBoard displays the following screen.
    Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
  7. To exit screen lock mode:
    1. Tap Unlock.
    2. Once the prompt appears, tap your NFC card on the NFC sensor. 
      Click & drag to move | Use scroll wheel to zoom
    3. You should be back on your last screen.

Important

The NFC screen lock behaves differently in guest mode: 

  • After unlocking, the system 'forgets' any NFC data associated with your card. You will need to perform the same steps again the next time you want to lock the screen.
  • Only the NFC card that was used to lock the screen can unlock the screen.
