Home screen and toolbars (A31-O1 EDLA)
Learn the options available on your VPC-A31-O1 home screen and some apps you can start using to begin lesson creation and delivery in this article.
Home screen overview
Once the device is powered on and the initial setup has been completed, you'll be presented with a home screen that should be familiar to any Android-based mobile device user.
A Google search bar is available with mic input as an option for searching. Below that, default apps and app groups are preloaded for your convenience.

Taskbar
Also on this default home screen, find the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. This taskbar is available at any time.

To view all apps, on the home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
ViewSonic custom theme
A customized ViewSonic theme is also available to enable a view of the home screen, apps, and tools that highlight myViewBoard educational apps, tools, and more. In addition, an always-available side toolbar is present on either side of the screen, giving you access to quick tools.
To enable this theme,
- Open Settings.
- Open the System menu.
- Press Launcher Theme.
- Select the Scheme B option.
- After selecting, you will see the above home screen with side toolbar buttons.
Side toolbar
To open the side toolbar, press  (always available, no matter if you're on the home screen, in an app, or in settings).
In the side toolbar, find the following options:

Customizing the home screen
Whether on Scheme A or Scheme B, home screen tiles can be customized.
To add apps to the home screen,
- View all apps:
- Scheme A: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
- Scheme B: Press the All Apps icon on the home screen.
- Press-hold your desired app:
- Scheme A: Drag the icon and place it in your desired location within the outlined area on the home screen.
- Scheme B: Press-hold until the options menu appears and press Add to Homepage.
To remove apps from the home screen,
- On the home screen, press-hold the app you want to remove. (Both schemes.)
- Then,
- Scheme A: Drag the icon to the top of the screen to where the Remove label is located.
- Scheme B: Press the remove icon after it appears.
Split screen
Recent apps can be accessed from the taskbar in Scheme A and the side toolbar in Scheme B. Once open, view all recently opened apps. Have the option to screenshot or split apps.
When the recent apps view is open, the option to split the most recently opened app to half of the screen will be available. After pressing the Split option, you'll be prompted to select another app to open in split view.

Access a fully featured digital whiteboarding app on your ViewBoard. myViewBoard Whiteboard  offers essential whiteboarding tools like pens, erasers, shapes, math tools, and more, as well as interactive and multimedia tools for all your lesson delivery needs.

myViewBoard Manager  provides a way to manage your ViewSonic devices from a web console. Pair your ViewBoard with Manager to allow IT admin to remotely send commands to the ViewBoard.
By doing so, you'll be able to power off, adjust volume, add Wi-Fi, update firmware, broadcast messages, and more! With Manager Advanced, do even more, like broadcasting multimedia, scheduling automated jobs, and pre-configuring device profiles.

For organizations set up with Google accounts, the VPC-A31-O1 is perfectly suited to help you take advantage of all included products and services. To access all your files and preferences, you'll first have to set up your profile on the device and then sign in to your Google account.
Google Play Store
Access the safe and secure Google Play Store to browse all your preferred apps. View the Kids page where popular teacher-approved apps can be found. Review Play Protect settings at any time to confirm that all installed apps are safe.
