What's New

March 2026

This month, we’re introducing powerful automation tools and more granular management controls to help you streamline your device operations. From broadcast templates to more flexible scheduling, these updates are designed to save you time and provide greater precision across your ViewSonic ecosystem.

Manager

The March 2026 update for Manager focuses on speed and accessibility, allowing admins to deploy messages faster and navigate between management portals more seamlessly.

  • Broadcast templates: We’ve added a Save as template button to the new broadcast interface. This allows you to predefine and save settings for different broadcast types, building a library of ready-to-use messages. Instead of configuring every detail from scratch, you can now apply a template to send critical information in seconds.

  • Direct software management access: To bridge your management workflows, we’ve added two new entries to the Settings menu. These provide a direct link to following sections within the myViewBoard admin pages:

    • Software Instance
    • NFC Management

Direct links to selected myViewBoard admin features.

  • Urgent alert duration via REST API: For organizations using our API for integration, we now support setting a specific duration for urgent alerts, giving you more control over how long critical messages remain visible.

  • New language support: To better support our global community, the Manager UI is now available in Portuguese.

Manager Advanced

Users with Advanced Licenses will see significant improvements in how permissions are handled and how device power cycles are automated.

  • Granular permission control: We’ve expanded access management by adding support for subgroup and subfolder permission control. This is available across all three permission levels, and allows admins to assign which devices can be managed only by specific users or roles.

Assign roles that can view and manage selected groups only

Note that new users/roles will be able to manage All devices by default (similar to previous versions) but admins can now use the Edit Permissions dialog to configure which groups can be managed by the new users/roles.

  • Independent startup and shutdown scheduling: We’ve updated the power scheduling tool to give you more flexibility. You can now set a shutdown time only or a startup time only without requiring them to be configured as a pair. This allows you to automate only the specific power actions your environment requires.

Set up power on and off independently

We hope these new features enhance your experience across the ViewSonic ecosystem! As always, we’re committed to improving our product, so stay tuned for more updates. If you have any feedback or questions, feel free to reach out to our support team.
